Our Camper

A few people have asked about the layout of our camper. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, below are some photos of our “home on wheels”.

Our camper is a Hybrid Travel Trailer. Hybrid Travel Trailers (or HTT’s for short) have only been around for about a dozen years. They are a combination of a hard-side travel trailer and a pop-up trailer with canvas beds that fold down in the front and rear of the trailer. The advantages of a HTT are the fact that floor space inside the camper is not taken up with beds and the camper is much lighter for the same about of interior livable space. The disadvantage is that canvas is not as secure or sturdy as a hard side wall. This is our second HTT. We have liked both of the Hybrids we have owned, but I suspect that our next trailer will be a larger standard Hard-side travel trailer. I am growing weary of the extra work to set-up, protect, and insulate the canvas bunk-end beds

Here is a photo of our camper. It is a 2000 Rockwood Roo 21.

Another photo but from the front. The large door on the front is hinged at the bottom. So it folds down and the door becomes the base of the bunk-end.

Here is a photo with both the front and rear bunk-ends folded out.

Here is another shot of the front with the bunk-end set up.

Abby is sitting on the front Queen sized bunk end bed. On the right wall is a TV and on the left is the sink, oven, stove, and microwave. All the comforts of home.

Another shot of Abby playing. Here you can see most of the "U" shaped dinette bench. We have a table that goes in the middle making it very easy to get all five of us around the table for meals.

Missy is folding towels and putting them in the dresser under the single bunk that AJ sleeps in. The blue cage was built by me to contain the whirling dervish.

Here is the Fridge. The space above was for a television, but I converted it into a mini pantry.
